



Humanitarian Emergency Assistance Response to the February 2nd 2023 massacre in Kajo Keji County South Sudan.
In the early morning hours of February 02nd/2023, Kajo Keji County was shocked to find a heavily armed group of tribal cattle herders from Jongolei state systematically currying out a door-to-door/ house-to-house massacre of the poor innocent and armless civilians in several Bomas and villages of Kajo Keji in Central Equatoria of state South Sudan.
This barbaric act resulted to the murder of 28 people both men and women including children and displacement of more than 50,000 others.
UACD actively and quickly responded to this crisis by procuring food/nonfood items and distributed to the four IDPs centre across Kajo Keji county
UACD Response Plan/Strategy
Based on the analysis of the humanitarian crisis of the affected population resulting from the Feb. 2nd. 2023 systematic genocide of poor innocent and armless civilian in Kajo Keji County of South Sudan, agencies are required to come up with immediate response plan as well as medium to longer term humanitarian strategies to support the affected population.
The immediate response plan is to address immediate needs at the IDPs convergence point(s),
Medium to longer term plan is to support the stabilization process of the affected population in an event that, the security situation improves in their own communities and are ready to go back, or if they are temporally resettled to safer communities within Kajo Keji County as determined by the local authorities and the security organs in the county based on their analysis of the situation.
