Kaku and her Three Sisters
Orphaned girls Kaku, Wude, Sokale and Juru witnessed the torture and killing of their father in 2016 by government soldiers in Kajo-Keji County South Sudan.
About Kaku and her Three Sisters
In mid-2016, Kaku and her sisters Wude, Sokale and Juru witnessed and experienced some horrifying events in their lives. They witnessed how their father was tortured and killed before them by government soldiers in Kajo-Keji South Sudan after being accused of supporting rebels, and their mother repeatedly gang raped and terribly beaten by the same government soldiers after killing their father.
Very unfortunate, their mother died from her injuries a few weeks later. These poor young girls were left with no one to take care of them, it was not until an elderly relative to their mother came to their rescue and crossed with them to Uganda for safety.
Unfortunately, this elderly woman is also a vulnerable single old woman who, has no husband and children, she survives on collections/ contributions from the community leader (Local Counsellor) of Lefori sub-county (Uganda).
How Kaku and her sisters were helped.
It was in 2017 when another lady narrated the horrible story of the 4 girls to the Director of the Anna & Family Foundation (Annet Marle) and immediately, Annet Marle did a follow up for the 4 girls. As things proved tougher for that old single mother, the Anna & Family foundation decided to move the 4 girls to Kampala and enrolled them in Katale Progressive Primary School.
Now the girls are under the support of United Agency for Community Development (UACD). The girls are placed under regular psychological counselling within the school to enable them manage and overcome the symptoms of post-traumatic stress.
The girls have displayed significant improvement to their emotional and psychological wellbeing and behavior. They copped well with learning in the new school environment.
Kaku (the elder sister) has completed her Uganda Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) from Katale Progressive Primary School, Kampala, Uganda and passed in first grade with Aggregate Twelve. Now Kaku has been enrolled to Senior one at Veron High School in Kampala. Her ambition is to become either a Medical/Human Doctor or a Journalist.
Wude (her follower) is in primary/grade 7 and Sokale (third born) is in primary/grade 4 including Juru (last born) in primary 4.
These girls need a lot of support. In addition to school fees and cost of care, they require continuous psychological counselling to enable them manage and overcome the symptoms of post-traumatic stress, and these services are costly, we can't afford all these by ourselves, please help us by donating today and give these innocent girls a decent life full of smiles.
THANK YOU
