The UACD support of Orphans and other vulnerable children's Education is an important indicator of child’s wellbeing and a means to acquiring knowledge and skills for sustainable employment and livelihoods’ opportunity in their lifetime/future. This intervention builds sense of growth, belonging, responsibility and economic viability of individuals and the state. This ideal response is to address the challenges/difficulties faced by OVC in meeting their educational needs. Although the ministry of education/Government put mechanisms in place for OVC get enrolled and attend basic education without discrimination, there are still numerous factors and challenges that are still hindering many OVC from enrolling and consistently attaining quality education. These factors are home related because of their status as well as institutional factors. The inclusion and increase of school fees in public primary, secondary schools and tertiary institutions in South Sudan has affected many children from getting enrolled and attend to school regularly, hence, leading to increase in number of OVC roaming in the streets of the city and towns engaging in dangerous coping mechanisms such as; pick pocketing, theft, engaged in gang criminal activities, early/forced marriage, and prostitution among young girls while others are persuaded to join military and rebel factions (especially the boys), causing threat to lives and properties of the poor citizens who deserve absolute protection.
The situation of Orphans and other vulnerable children face gave UACD a new thinking and approach to intervene to rescue a generation that is getting lost because of neglect/ rejection by foster families/ caretaker of OVC. Currently, UACD is supporting Fifty-Four (54) at high-risk orphans and other most vulnerable children in different levels of learning institutions (primary, secondary, and tertiary) both in Kajo Keji and Juba South Sudan and in Uganda pursuing different academic disciplines to better their lives in the future. Today, most of these children are enrolled in Ugandan learning institutions where they and their families/ caretakers have fled for refugee following the massive displacement of the civil population in Kajo-Keji in 2016.

UACD depends on donations from well-wishers to run its projects, today we need your help for us to be able to support these children in their pursue for education and poverty free future. Please click the Donate button below and give a child a bright future. THANK YOU
