Sam's Story
Sam is currently volunteering as the Director for Outreach and Resource Mobilization and UACD country representative to the United State of America.
Sam is a naturalized American Citizen originally from Kajo Keji, South Sudan. Born and raised in South Sudan with a brief stay in Uganda during the first Sudanese Civil war. Sam moved to the USA in 1991
Sam has a wide range of experiences having worked in various Engineering capacities for Intel Corporation, Advanced Metrology Systems, Qimonda and SolarWorld.
Community service is a core tenant for Sam who has served on numerous non-profit positions such as Leader of the African Students Alliance at the University of Colorado at Boulder, The African Communities Network in Virginia; The South Sudanese Community in Oregon, Leading and Pastoring South Sudanese Bible Church in Portland and many other community involvements to bring peace and reconciliation in South Sudanese Communities. Sam has also been involved in various fund mobilizations to support vulnerable communities back in his hometown Kajo Keji in South Sudan. It is this love of working for the community that has motivated Sam to join UACD.
Sam became a member of the UACD Board in February 2023 and has ever since supported the organization in various areas including fund raising and mobilization of support and marketing the organization.
Sam graduated with a Master of Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and works as a Senior Software Engineer at Jireh Semiconductor, Inc in Portland, Oregon.
